Avril has also been busy with her fragrance line, debuting a new scent, Forbidden Rose.  It will be available in Europe this July and will be sold exclusively at Kohl’s in the US beginning in August.  Curious fans can order a free sample through the official website.

The line was launched last year with her original scent, Black Star.  The Cosmetic Executive Women awarded it Best Fragrance in 2010.  If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, “Black Star was created for the girl who loves to stand out and express her own style.  Black Star is a fusion of vibrant floral, fruity and gourmand accords, each with a distinctive, lively appeal. The notes blend to create a swirling, sparkling cloud of fragrance, for a truly energetic scent. ”

In other Avril news, there has been talk of a new album in the works, but the original expected date of November 17, 2009, was pushed back to June 2010.  This past May, Avril decided that the album was too serious and returned to the studio to work on changes.  She admits that she is in no hurry and thought that the album could use some upbeat songs to balance it out.

Her song “Alice” was just released as the lead single from the movie soundtrack “Almost Alice.” The film is scheduled for release on march 5, and stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Mia Wasikowska.

The film follows 19-year-old Alice back to the land where she had her adventure the first time, only now she’s all grown up and ready to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.

“Working on this project was such a treat! It was such a great experience and Tim Burton was an absolute pleasure. He is very smart. I am so grateful for this opportunity…and can’t wait to see the whole film!!!!” Avril posted on her Web site.

Lavigne was finishing up her work on an upcoming album, which was primarily recorded by the pop singer and her soon-to-be-ex in their home.  She plans to re-record some of the album to give the collection a sound to reflect her new lifestyle.

According the Lavigne, she left Whibley because she “married too young,” by they are expected to remain friends.
